Leavenworth Ingalls Extra Special BitterAvailable January - April Arriving each January, Ingalls E.S.B. is richly bronze and long on hop flavor. Medium-bodied, it is particularly welcome by craft beer enthusiasts seeking slightly milder fare after a full season of hearty Holiday ales. Indeed, Ingalls ESB is the perfect transition between those robust Winter beers and the light seasonals of Summer. With hints of sweet caramel and toffee, it beautifully balances the natural fruitiness of its yeast with the fresh herbal quality imparted by Columbus, Centennial, and Golding hops. Captain Ben Ingalls surveyed the Bluett Pass area of the Cascade Range. Legend has it that in 1872 he discovered a mother lode of gold on the shore of a Cascade lake. Ingalls mapped his find for later mining, and then hid the map, only to have it, the lake and the gold buried forever by an earthquake. Some say you can still see the Captain wandering up there looking for his gold. 64 IBUs - 5.0% ABV - Gravity 1.059 |
