Detonator DoppelbockOne of Fish Brewings speciality oak-aged beers, Detonator Doppelbock is a very strong lager dedicated to the removal of salmon-killing dams and the restoration of free-flowing rivers. The Mighty Fish Brewers condition Detonator in American oak wine barrels for three months. Then, as one of Cascadias lusty rites of Spring, Fish releases this astonishing lager to the rejoicing multitudes on Earth Day. The oak barrels that held Detonator come from one of Cascadias premier wineries. These barrels have already served Fish well by aging the first Oaken Ales, Leviathan Barleywine and Poseidons Imperial Stout. Oak-aged Doppelbock is a full-bodied lager with a deep reddish-brown color. Weve brewed it in the classic German tradition, with noble Hallertauer and Columbus hops added to Pale and Chocolate malts and a large portion of Munich malt . As a result, Detonator offers a malty aroma and palate, which is balanced by its relatively dry finish, plus the subtly melded character of the robust ales and fine Merlot which previously filled the oak. This lager is available seasonally in bottles and on draught. 8.0% ABV / 1.080 OG / 20.0° Plato |
